Our school and class follow the PBIS behavior system. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention Support. We have schoolwide rules that help make our classroom a safe, respectful place for everyone to learn! S.T.A.R.S helps us remember:
School and classroom rules are reviewed with your child daily. It is important that everyone follows the rules. Sometimes we forget and that is okay. If your child does not follow the rules, they will have to move a clip based on the following color-coded system.
Purple: Superstar!
Blue: Great Day!
Green: Ready to Learn
Yellow: "Take space" in our room (5 minutes)
Orange: Teacher's choice
Red: Office visit ( phone call home.)
You will be able to find out how your child's day went by looking in their folders. There is a class calendar with a smiley face on each school day that will be filled in with a color. There you will find either the color that corresponds with your child's behavior and/or a note stating what happened that day. PLEASE INITIAL YOUR CHILD'S FOLDER IN THAT SPACE. IT LETS US KNOW THAT YOU HAVE SEEN HOW THEY DID THAT DAY! Please return folders to school daily.
It is important that we all work together to make sure your child is exhibiting appropriate behaviors. We are striving to make all the children good citizens. Thank you for all of your help and support in this matter.
